The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a global development framework adopted by 193 member states of the United Nations (UN) in 2015 as a continuation of the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs). The SDGs consist of 17 goals and 169 targets to be achieved by 2030, encompassing a broad and interconnected range of development dimensions, from poverty eradication and access to quality education and healthcare to gender equality, climate action, and the strengthening of global partnerships.

Through its three core pillars—education, research, and community engagement—higher education institutions play a vital role in advancing the objectives outlined in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada continuously aligns SDG values with its academic programs, research activities, and community service initiatives. The various programs and innovations developed by the Faculty are not only aimed at advancing psychological science but are also designed to create tangible benefits for the well-being of individuals, families, communities, and society at large. By fostering partnerships with a wide range of stakeholders at the local, national, and international levels, the Faculty of Psychology UGM continues to strengthen its role in promoting a healthy, inclusive, resilient, and sustainable society.
