The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) equipped its administrative staff with the knowledge and skills to serve as Safe Adults and First Aiders for colleagues and students in need of initial psychological support. Organized through a collaboration between the Faculty's Health Promoting University (HPU) program and the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH), the training was held in Room D-402, Faculty of Psychology UGM, on Friday (July 24).
Professor of the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Drs. Subandi, M.A., Ph.D., Psikolog, served as a Visiting Professor at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) on Tuesday (10/6). On this occasion, he delivered a presentation entitled "The Influence of Culture on Hallucination & Delusion Among Schizophrenia Patients," which explored how sociocultural factors shape the experiences of hallucinations and delusions among individuals with schizophrenia.
Mental health information is increasingly accessible through social media, including content about depression, anxiety, ADHD, and burnout. However, this ease of access also carries the risk of misunderstandings, as many individuals attempt self-diagnosis without proper psychological assessment, labeling themselves without fully understanding the context or limitations of the information they receive.
On Wednesday (12/7), the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH) Faculty of Psychology UGM held an Online Summer Lecture Series (OSLS) 2023 themed Mental Health in the Digital World. Dr. Wenty Marina Minza, M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, officially opened the OSLS and will continue until July 26th.
