UGM Faculty of Psychology Professor Presents Sociocultural Perspectives in Understanding Schizophrenia at UMT

Professor of the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Prof. Drs. Subandi, M.A., Ph.D., Psikolog, served as a Visiting Professor at Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) on Tuesday (10/6). On this occasion, he delivered a presentation entitled "The Influence of Culture on Hallucination & Delusion Among Schizophrenia Patients," which explored how sociocultural factors shape the experiences of hallucinations and delusions among individuals with schizophrenia.

OPSI UGM Discusses the Risks of Self-Diagnosing in the Social Media Era

Mental health information is increasingly accessible through social media, including content about depression, anxiety, ADHD, and burnout. However, this ease of access also carries the risk of misunderstandings, as many individuals attempt self-diagnosis without proper psychological assessment, labeling themselves without fully understanding the context or limitations of the information they receive.
