Yogyakarta – As part of its community service program, the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), launched a pocketbook on academic anxiety management and strengthening decision-making skills. The pocketbook was officially launched at SMA Kolese De Britto on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, targeting tenth-grade students.
As students entering senior high school, they often face academic demands that differ from those at their previous level of education. In addition, they begin to face expectations to determine their future paths, including career choices. These circumstances may trigger anxiety, particularly when students do not yet understand how to manage it.
The pocketbook serves as a psychoeducational resource, introduced alongside the launch event. Through this resource, students are encouraged to understand the anxiety they experience, particularly in relation to academic stress and career decision-making. It also includes reflective activities that students can practice when experiencing anxiety.
“We hope students will be able to manage the academic demands they face as they enter senior high school,” said one of the UGM Faculty of Psychology community service team members.
The pocketbook was developed byAnjuni Khofifah Hanifi, S.Psi., M.Sc., Bunga Sakinah, S.Psi., M.A., Antonius Nandiwardana, S.Psi., M.A., Muh. Nur Haq I. S.
