A decade-long career in the oil and gas industry, followed by two decades as a consultant and speaker, did not lead Okina Fitriani to leave the academic world behind. An alumna of the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), she continued teaching, pursued her studies through doctoral level, and developed research in the field of parenting. Born and raised in Yogyakarta to a family of West Sumatran heritage, she has demonstrated that dedication to the industrial sector can go hand in hand with meaningful contributions to research and academia.

The participants were scheduled to attend the graduation ceremony on Wednesday, July 22.

Yogyakarta, August 4, 2026 – A research team from the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), has found that clinical hypnosis has the potential to serve as an effective complementary intervention in the management of various chronic diseases. The findings were obtained through a scoping review of randomized controlled trials (RCTs) and have been published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis.

Yogyakarta, August 3, 2026 – A research team from the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) has found that hypnosis based on guided imagery has the potential to enhance employees' sense of meaningful work among those with low levels of work engagement. The findings were published in the International Journal of Clinical and Experimental Hypnosis following a pilot study employing a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design.

The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) equipped its administrative staff with the knowledge and skills to serve as Safe Adults and First Aiders for colleagues and students in need of initial psychological support. Organized through a collaboration between the Faculty's Health Promoting University (HPU) program and the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH), the training was held in Room D-402, Faculty of Psychology UGM, on Friday (July 24).

Born and raised in Yogyakarta, Analisa initially dreamed of majoring in Communication Studies. Her interest in psychology grew from her love of reading, particularly The Lost Boy by Charlie Flotman, a story about a psychologist supporting a child with autism. Through the book, she discovered a connection between her passion for communication and her desire to help others, ultimately leading her to pursue her studies at the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM).
