The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), honored 12 postgraduate graduates on Wednesday, July 22, during the Fourth Graduation Period Ceremony for the 2025/2026 Academic Year, held in Room A-203, Building A, Faculty of Psychology UGM. The graduates comprised 10 Master of Psychology graduates and two Doctor of Psychology graduates.
The 12 graduates consisted of eight women and four men. At the master’s level, there were seven women and three men, while the doctoral cohort comprised one woman and one man.
At the master’s level, the highest Grade Point Average (GPA) was achieved by I Kadek Wahyu Pujhana, with a GPA of 3.99. Five graduates graduated with honors (Pujian): I Kadek Wahyu Pujhana, Debora Debby Hanggoro, Nina Vania Aristawati, Sabriasrifah, and Nadief Fikri Jatmiko. The other five graduates received the Very Satisfactory distinction. The average GPA among the master’s graduates was 3.83, with an average study duration of 2 years, 4 months, and 24 days. Nina Vania Aristawati completed her studies in the shortest period, graduating in 1 year, 8 months, and 26 days.
In the Doctor of Psychology Program, Sukma Rahastri Kanthi and Muhammad Dwirifqi Kharisma Putra both graduated with the Very Satisfactory distinction, with an average GPA of 3.89. Sukma completed her dissertation, entitled “Empowering Primary Family Caregivers of People with Schizophrenia: Development of a Conceptual Model and Feasibility Testing of an Intervention Model,” under the supervision of Prof. Drs. Subandi, M.A., Ph.D., Psychologist and Restu Tri Handoyo, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D., Psychologist. Meanwhile, Muhammad Dwirifqi Kharisma Putra conducted research entitled “Development of a Statistical Literacy Instrument and Standard Setting for Undergraduate Psychology Students: A Model-Based Study” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A., together with Bahrul Hayat, M.A., Ph.D., from the Faculty of Psychology, UIN Syarif Hidayatullah Jakarta.
Representing the graduates, Sukma Rahastri Kanthi said that completing their studies was made possible through the support of many people.
“The degrees we receive today are not the result of our efforts alone, but the fruit of the prayers, support, and sacrifices of the many people who have stood behind us,” she said.
She encouraged all graduates to view their achievement as the beginning of a new journey to contribute to society.
“May this moment not be the end of our journey, but rather the beginning of the next chapter,” she said.
Representing the parents and guardians of the graduates, Sri Hastuti, S.Pd., also expressed her appreciation for the educational process provided by the Faculty of Psychology UGM.
“As parents, we are deeply impressed by the educational process provided to our children,” she said.
She also encouraged the graduates to always honor their parents and lecturers who had accompanied and supported them throughout their academic journey.
Meanwhile, Vice Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Dr. Sumaryono, M.Si., Psychologist, emphasized that the graduates’ academic achievements should serve as a foundation for continuing to make meaningful contributions to society through their knowledge of psychology.
“It is not simply about graduating, but about what kind of contribution you will make,” he said.
During the ceremony, the faculty also presented academic transcripts to all graduates through the Head of the Doctor of Psychology Program, Edilburga Wulan Saptandari, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D., Psychologist, and the Head of the Master of Psychology Program, Dr. Arum Febriani, S.Psi., M.A.. Symbolic alumni scarf presentations were given to Nina Vania Aristawati as the representative of the Master of Psychology graduates and Muhammad Dwirifqi Kharisma Putra as the representative of the Doctor of Psychology graduates.
On the same occasion, Nadief Fikri Jatmiko received an award for the best thesis publication manuscript for his work entitled “Social Relationship Portfolio Model for Predicting Friendship Trustworthiness: Latent Profile Analysis of University Student Friendships,” under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A.. The award was presented by Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Pradytia Putri Pertiwi, S.Psi., Ph.D.. The ceremony concluded with a joint prayer and a group photo of all graduates with faculty members.
