The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and TVRI Yogyakarta once again present OPSI: Psychological Talk, a weekly interactive talk show. The second episode aired on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, from 3:00 to 4:00 PM WIB, featuring the theme “Click, Borrow, Regret: Understanding Online Loans through Neuroscience.”

This episode featured two expert speakers: Mrs. Dra. Kusrohmaniah, M.Si., Ph.D., Psychologist, a lecturer from the Faculty of Psychology UGM, and Andi Khaerul Imam, S.Psi., a master’s student in psychology at UGM.

Mrs. Kusrohmaniah has a broad expertise covering computer perception, memory and attention in cognitive science, as well as sensory processes, perception, and performance in psychology. She is also an expert in biological psychology, including neuropsychology, psychopharmacology, and physiological psychology. Her research interests focus on biopsychology, cognitive and affective sciences, and human-computer interaction technology. With this background, Mrs. Kusrohmaniah provides deep insights into how our brain works in decision-making related to online loans (pinjol).

In this episode, the speakers thoroughly explore the phenomenon of online loans from a neuroscience perspective. The goal is not to blame individuals for falling into online loan traps but to provide understanding of why impulsive decisions like these happen and how to avoid them. The discussion offers insights into how brain function can influence our financial behavior.
