Dr. Wenty Marina Minza, S.Psi., M.A., has been inaugurated as Dean of the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) for the 2026–2031 term. She succeeds Rahmat Hidayat, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., who led the faculty from 2021 to 2026.
Wenty’s inauguration took place on Wednesday (September 30) as part of the inauguration ceremony for deans of UGM faculties and the Vocational College for the 2026–2031 term, held at the UGM Senate Hall in the UGM Central Building.
At the faculty level, the leadership transition continued with a farewell and welcome ceremony and the signing of the official handover document between Rahmat and Wenty. Based on a Rector’s Decree issued in Yogyakarta on September 25, 2026, Wenty’s term runs from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2031.

Held in the corridor of Building D, the ceremony featured remarks from Rahmat, who reflected on his five years of leadership. He acknowledged that several goals remained unmet, some initiatives needed to be continued, and new programs needed to be initiated in the coming term.
“There are many things that have yet to be achieved, many things that still need to be continued, and many things that need to be initiated over the next five years,” Rahmat said.
Rahmat also noted that Wenty had been involved in faculty management during the previous term. During the first half of the dean’s term, she oversaw research, community service, and partnerships, followed by academic affairs and student affairs during the second half. According to Rahmat, this experience had given Wenty a comprehensive understanding of the faculty’s strategic and operational issues.

“Ms. Wenty is in the best position to carry out this responsibility,” he said.
Rahmat also expressed his support for Wenty’s leadership in advancing the development of the UGM Faculty of Psychology.
“We will, of course, offer our full support and participate fully in all efforts to develop the UGM Faculty of Psychology,” he stated.
Wenty then expressed her gratitude to the academic community of the UGM Faculty of Psychology for their support during her service on the dean’s team from 2021 to 2026. She also thanked Rahmat for the trust he had placed in her throughout their collaboration in managing the faculty.

“Being entrusted with the role of dean at the Faculty of Psychology, which I hold dear, is both an honor and a challenge,” Wenty said.
As she begins her new term, Wenty hopes to contribute her very best to the UGM Faculty of Psychology, supported by the commitment, enthusiasm, and warm relationships shared by all members of the faculty community.
“In my view, the next five years are by no means a short period. There were many considerations I had to work through before finally finding the courage to undertake this process and reach this point,” Wenty said.
The ceremony concluded with a group photo session.
