Haidar Buldan Thontowi adalah seorang akademisi dan peneliti di bidang psikologi dengan latar belakang pendidikan internasional yang kuat. Beliau menyelesaikan pendidikan sarjana di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Gadjah Mada pada tahun 2010, kemudian melanjutkan studi master di Program Psikologi Umum di New York University yang diselesaikan pada tahun 2013. Pencapaian akademiknya berlanjut dengan gelar doktor yang diperoleh dari St Andrews University, Inggris, pada tahun 2020. 

Saat ini, Haidar berperan sebagai staf akademik di Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Gadjah Mada. Keahliannya berfokus pada psikologi pendidikan serta psikologi sosial dan komunitas. Minat penelitiannya meliputi psikologi budaya dan relasi sosial, mencerminkan perspektif globalnya dalam memahami perilaku manusia dalam konteks budaya dan sosial. Haidar juga aktif mengembangkan keterampilan pengajarannya, yang dibuktikan dengan partisipasinya dalam Pelatihan Peningkatan Keterampilan Dasar Teknik Instruksional (PEKERTI) pada tahun 2021. Dengan latar belakang pendidikan internasional dan fokus pada psikologi pendidikan dan sosial, Haidar membawa perspektif unik dalam pengembangan ilmu psikologi di Indonesia.

2010-2011 Research Assistant for Research Project “Study of Conflict in Indonesia: Post Reforms Era”, Faculty of Psychology Universitas Gadjah Mada. I was engaged in discussing the method of the experiment, collecting data, statistical analyses using SPSS, and writing the report.

2009 Research Assistant for World Class Research University Team “Studies on Trust, Happiness and Achievement in Indonesia”, Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada in collaboration with Inha Univesity, Korea. I was engaged in collecting data, data analyses by categorizing responses into themes, research meetings in evaluating the methods and findings of the research.
2009 Research Assistant for Development of Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS) Scales in Indonesia, in collaboration with Faculty of Psychology, University of Boras, Sweden. I was engaged in the process of linguistic validation of the scales, data collection as well as data analyses using SPSS.
2009 Research Assistant for Research Project “Influences of Affective Personality on Organizational Citizenship Behavior”. I was engaged in writing the research proposal, data collection, data analyses using SPSS, and writing the final report.
