Faculty of Psychology Wins 1st Place Poster Contest PPSF 2019

On October 11-12, 2019 then, the team from the Faculty of Psychology UGM consisting of Zahirah Tsurayya Mufidah, Ni Luh Vidary Wiakta Putri, and Riza Fatihah Azzahra participated in a poster competition at the Positive Psychology Student Festival (PPSF) 2019 held at Maranatha Christian University, Bandung. The event was initiated by the Indonesian Positive Psychology Association (AP2I) since the association was formally established in 2017.

With the theme of “Integrating Science and Practice for a Positive Life”, the event aims to introduce Positive Psychology to the wider community, especially in young people, students and students, and so that Positive Psychology can be integrated into daily activities by staying based on scientific principles.

Under the guidance of Ardian Praptomojati, S. Psi., M. Psi., psychologist, the psychology team of UGM raised the theme of self-compassion under the title “Self Compassion: Your Portable Emotional Support”. Through this poster, the Psychology team of UGM seeks to introduce what is self-compassion, how the role of self-compassion in raising well-being on daily life, helps individuals to better understand and cherish himself while facing failure, and the simple way that can be done to improve self-compassion.

In the presentation of posters, presented also interactive mini-games that can attract the audience and make the material presented on the poster can be well absorbed. Mini-game concept The Faculty of Psychology UGM team received a warm welcome and enthusiasm from the audience.

The Poster that was made is displayed from the first day of the race and presented before the jury on the second day. Comprehensive poster material and a unique and innovative poster presentation were able to deliver the Psychology team of UGM to reach the 1st place in this event.

“Following this event is a very interesting experience. In addition to gaining new knowledge because of the Positive Psychology course itself is not in the Faculty of Psychology UGM, we are also increasingly aware of the importance of applying Positive Psychology in everyday life, “said Vidary.
