Faculty of Psychology Provides Advance Cognitive Test Training

The Faculty of Psychology at Gadjah Mada University in collaboration with PT. Traversing Cakrawala Indonesia organized the AJT Cognitive test training for lecturers from various universities in Indonesia. The training was held at Hotel Santika, Yogyakarta from 1 to 4 October 2019.

The AJT cognitive test is a child intelligence test that measures through 8 aspects of liquid reasoning, short-term working memory, learning efficiency, visual-spatial processing, auditory processing, understanding – knowledge, acceptance eloquence, and processing speed. The making of this test refers to the theory of intelligence developed by the psychologists Raymond Cattell, John Horn and John Caroll called Catell-Horn-Caroll (CHC). The results of this AJT cognitive test are able to demonstrate the cognitive areas that will be the strength or weakness of an individual so that it can optimize performance.

AJT’s cognitive test training begins with ice breaking to warm the atmosphere followed by a briefing on the study contract during the training. Supra Wimbarti, M.Sc., PhD., Faculty of Psychology UGM provides an explanation of the history of world and Indonesian intelligence tests. The material is a bridge for the next material that focuses on the theory of intelligence that is the foundation of the theory of AJT drafting the CHC theory. Some experts also participate in the training materials related to the practical process of testing equipment, namely Retno Suhapti, S.U., M. A, and Wahyu Widhiarso, S. Psi., M.A.

Material related to the administration of AJT cognitive tests that gather in the criteria of a tester, interpreter, standards, and ethics, scoring system, until the recording of the observation to be material of discussion on the second day. Ammik Kisriyani, S. Psi., M.A., Edilburga Wulan Saptandi, S. Psi, M. Psi, and Dra. Retno Suhapti, S.U., M. A was the speaker in this session.

The cognitive testing material of AJT also continues on the third day, where the Sculpter explains the various tests in the AJT. As for the last session on the third day, participants were given an explanation of the scoring system including how to charge the score and read the results of the scoring by Ajeng S. Syarasyalma, S. Kom, and Wahyu Widhiarso, S. Psi., M.A.

The last day of training was closed with the preparation of AJT’s cognitive test results report. On the last day, Dr. M.G. Adiyanti, M.S. and R. Urip Purwono, M.Sc., Ph.D. Present the basics of the interpretation of AJT tests as well as explanations of how to read the profile of the test results, followed by the preparation of the results report on cognitive tests AJT, and presentation of the report drafting.
