The Faculty of Psychology organized a group counseling training in prisons for the psychological intervention of the female penitentiary of the IIB class in Yogyakarta. The event was held twice on 8 November and 15 November 2019. The event was attended by the Counsellor in Correctional Institution. The purpose of this event is to facilitate the counselors when giving psychological intervention in LP.
On the first day, the event began with a pre test for the counselors present. Then before the group counseling session began. First a group counseling is done to provide knowledge before the counseling practice. This group counseling was given by Prof. Dr. Tina Afiatin, M.Si, psikolog. After completion of the supply it continues to group counseling practice consisting of three sessions.
As for the next day, the agenda is more focused on peer counceling where the peer counceling consists of four sessions. Participants were divided into three groups and each group consisted of 8 to 10 people, each group led by the event’s assistant from the Faculty of Psychology. Then the participants were directed to do a peer counceling. Before the closure of the event closed with post test.
