Tuesday, (5/3) SMAN 1 Cikembar, Sukabumi visited Faculty of Psychology Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM). SMA Negeri 1 Cikembar brought about 250 students from 9 class in grade 9, Science and Social major. This visitation to campus is a routine agenda held by SMA Negeri 1 Cikembar for their student, and the purpose for increasing motivation to continue study to university. The visitation held in auditorium G-100 Faculty of Psychology UGM.
The visitation started at 9 a.m and opened by a welcome speech from Dr. Esti Rahayu Purnamaningsih, M.S. as a head of program bachelor degree Faculty of Psychology UGM. Esti welcomed warmly SMA Negeri 1 Cikembar arrival in Faculty of Psychology UGM. she explained introduction and a brief explanation about faculty of psychology UGM, “Faculty of Psychology UGM becomes the reference for other Faculty of Psychology, and attains good accreditation for through program, from Bachelor Degree to Doctoral program”. She said.
Hj. Dikeu Mariskeu, M.Pkim, Vice Head of School student affairs field as representation from SMA Negeri 1 Cikembar in a welcome speech said “in Sukabumi strongly needed human resources with a Psychology background, because not all needs in schools can be fulfilled. But none of our students are competing to enter UGM because of afraid, however actually, they can be competed and study at UGM. Therefore by coming and seeing directly to Faculty of Psychology, theirs motivation will grow than by story”, her opinion.
Nurul Hidayati, S.Psi Psychology UGM Alumnus who works in the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH) gave a brief description about the step of deciding a major, lecture activities in Faculty of Psychology and gave motivation to SMA Negeri 1 Cikembar student to dare competing enroll study in the reputable University like UGM. Nurul starts that session with the ice-breaking game and then sharing experience accepted and study in Faculty of Psychology UGM, “ although Psychology UGM includes social science field but not merely studying about social because also learns about science such as Psychometric or Statistic”. Nurul Said.
In the final session, Rr. Zurida Ramawati, S.IP, M.Sc. as a head of academic and student affairs section explained regarding various of the entrance to UGM briefly. The visitation finished at 10.15 a.m and they took a picture together by background Psychology UGM. (Public Relations UGM/ Jehna)
