UGM Psychology Debate Team manage to make an achievement. On November 14-15 2020, team of Sinta Kartika Widyowati (2018), Ida Ayu Ketut Mikla Tasyaseni (2018), and Dhita Chandra Dewi (2019) won the first place in Psyferia Debate Competition 2020 that held by Padjajaran University online.

The topic of the debate competition was related to Industrial and Organizational Psychology, so the sub topics was about company settings, employees, or broader matters such as systemic problems.

During the preliminary round, UGM Psychology team got the highest score from 20 teams in the round with 3 victory points, UGM Psychology team won the entire round from all of 3 preliminary rounds. It is followed with the quarter-finals and semifinals where UGM team won against Padjadjaran University team. On the final, UGM team faced Maranatha Christian University team, and they once again won match. According to this result, UGM Psychology team won the first place.

In addition, one of the team members, Sinta Kartika Widyowati, was nominated as Best Speaker from 60 participants. “I was really surprised when I was announced to be the best speaker, because throughout the competition it seemed that the other competitors were extraordinarily good. So I’m grateful, but still surprised”, explained Sinta.

“The activity was very memorable and fun because it was carried out online and went well” said Sinta.
