The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), welcomed a visit from 134 twelfth-grade students of SMAN 2 Wonosari on Tuesday (September 23) at Hall-D. The visit aimed to broaden students’ knowledge about higher education, particularly about UGM and its Faculty of Psychology.
Ramadhan Dwi Marvianto, S.Psi., M.A., Coordinator of Undergraduate Learning at the Faculty of Psychology UGM, warmly welcomed the group and introduced the study programs offered.
“For the undergraduate level, we have two programs: the regular Undergraduate Psychology Program and the International Undergraduate Program,” he explained.
He further elaborated on the differences between the two programs, including their curriculum, degrees, and international exchange opportunities.
“The regular program follows the national curriculum, while the International Undergraduate Program provides international exposure and opportunities for student exchanges,” he said.
In addition, he introduced several of the faculty’s research centers, such as the Center for Life-Span Development (CLSD), the Center of Indigenous and Cultural Psychology (CICP), and the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH).
Drs. Satsu Widodo, Vice Principal for Student Affairs of SMAN 2 Wonosari, expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome.
“Our purpose in coming here is, of course, to guide the students in exploring and deepening their understanding of higher education, particularly at the Faculty of Psychology UGM ,” he stated.
The event began with a video presentation about UGM and its Faculty of Psychology, followed by explanations about the regular Undergraduate Psychology Program by Sapte Rini, S.Ag., and the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) by Annisa’ Rahmani. The students also had the opportunity to tour the faculty’s facilities.
