On October 27 – 28, 2017, HIMPSI (Himpunan Psikologi Indonesia/Indonesian Psychology Association) worked with 10 psychology faculties in Yogyakarta to hold the fourth Olimpiade Psikologi Indonesia (Indonesian Psychology Olympics), commonly referred to as OPI. OPI is a national scientific gathering for psychology students all around the country, conducted every two years. The theme for this year’s OPI is “Harmony in Diversity” with 11 competition categories that students compete in.

The Faculty of Psychology in UGM delegated 77 students along with 5 people as the managerial team. The students from years 2014, 2015, and 2016 were selected and given socialization of the event. Preparations have started since July. The students interested in competing attended General Orientation for five days. Training was conducted in 2 stages and after each stage the students’ performance were evaluated to select delegates to compete in OPI. Then, selected students were debriefed to close the training process. The goal of debriefing is to strengthen the mentality of the students before they compete and also to increase the bonds of the team.
