On Friday, August 18, 2017, students from Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS) visited the Faculty of Psychology in UGM as part of their program, “Journey to ASEAN (Chapter 1)”. This visit to Yogyakarta is part of that program, the visitation started from August 18 until August 20, 2017. Nineteen students from UNIMAS visited UGM Psychology, along with one lecturer. Twenty-four students and lecturers from our faculty hosted the guests.

Prof. Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti, MMedSc., Ph.D., the Vice Dean of Research, Community Service, and Collaboration, gave an opening speech. Mohd Razali Bin Othman, Pensyarah Kanan Fakulti Sains Kognitif dan Perkembangan Manusia, gave a speech as well.
After the welcoming speeches from both parties, the next session started with a presentation about the Faculty of Psychology from the coordinator of the International Undergraduate Program (IUP), Galang Lufityanto, S.Psi., M.Psi., Ph.D. UNIMAS students also gave a presentation about their campus. The presentations were followed by a question and answer session led by a few lecturers from UGM Psychology.
At the end of the event, souvenirs were handed over and the participants took photos. They then left A-203 and went around the faculty’s area on a Campus Tour session. One of the points of interest was Unit Konsultasi Psikologi (Psychological Services Unit), a unit that is relevant to what the visiting students are learning in UNIMAS. IUP students accompanied them during this session. The event ended at 12 p.m., and overall it went smoothly as planned. [Dita]
