Universitas Pendidikan Sutan Idris Malaysia Visited the Faculty of Psychology in Universitas Gadjah Mada

UGM’s Faculty of Psychology received a visit from the Faculty of Education and Human Development of Universiti Pendidikan Sultan Idris (UPSI), Malaysia (3/9). The visit lasted for more or less two and a half hours, starting from 2.20 p.m. Two lecturers and 28 undergraduate students came to visit. From our faculty, the vice dean of academics and student affairs; vice dean of research, community service and collaboration; and also lecturers in charge of managing courses attended event. Some students from Universitas Islam Indonesia also participated.

The visitors were welcomed in room A203 on campus. In her welcome speech, Dr. Nida Ul Hasanat, M.Si, as the vice dean of academics and student affairs addressed that in the future, there will hopefully be continual collaboration between both faculties after this visitation. Prof. Rahmatullah Khan, as the coordinator for UPSI’s psychology program, delivered the welcome speech on their behalf. After the greetings and the welcoming, the attendees were presented with UGM’s Faculty of Psychology’s company profile video, which encompasses many things, starting from our faculty’s location, achievements, to comments from alumni. UPSI then shared much information regarding their psychology program, starting from who their lecturers are to student life and activities. In this opportunity, Prof. Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti as the vice dean of research, community service, and collaboration introduced units and centers in our faculty, such as Center for Indigenous and Cultural Psychology and Psychological Services Unit.

The event in A203 ended with the giveaway of souvenirs between both faculties and also a photo session. Then, the visitors toured the faculty, guided by Taufik Achmad, M.Psi as the assistant for the vice dean of academics and student affairs, along with 10 students from the International Undergraduate Program and the Student Council. The UPSI students and lecturers also tried a simple psychological experiment in the Cognitive Laboratory.
