UGM Psychology Won 2 Titles in Psynesco 2018’s ‘Cerdas Cermat’ Competition

Lomba Cerdas Cermat (LCC) is a contest in a form of quizzes and such, with certain themes, topics, and variations of quizzing methods in different rounds. Pynesco 2018 is one of them, held by the Student Body Association of Semarang State University, known as Universitas Negeri Semarang (UNNES) here in Indonesia. The competition was held on October 6 – 7, 2018, in the university’s Faculty of Education. This LCC is the first one they have ever held. The theme for the competition was Humanistic Psychology.

Our faculty sent out 2 teams to compete. Team 1 consisted of Reswara D. P., Tori Netanya B. W., and Erwin D. S., who won 1st Place. Team 2 consisted of Wisnu Y. P., Zidnilma F., dan Theodora S. S., who also won as the competition’s Runner Up.

Other campuses such as UAD, UNNES, USD, and UNS also competed. Delegates/teams had to go through several rounds. The first round was the ‘Warming Up’ round, the second was the ‘True or False’ round, the third was called ‘Fast and Glorious’, and the fourth round was named ‘Which One’. The top 3 teams would then proceed to the last and final round, to work on a case and analyze it. Like how the task suggests, the last round was called ‘Case Analysis’. The teams that proceeded to the final round were both teams from UGM and also the team from the home university.

“I am so glad that I got to compete in this competition. I gained new friends, knowledge, and experience,” said Reswara. Anya, another delegate, also expressed how proud she is for having the chance to contribute for our faculty as well as putting what she has learned in class to use.

Hopefully, happy news like this can come again. UGM Psychology, look forward to other glorious things!
