The Faculty of Psychology in Universitas Gadjah Mada delegated 4 teams consisting of 11 students to Pekan Ilmiah Mahasiswa Nasional (PIMNAS) in Makassar. With all of the other students from UGM, they participated in this prestigious competition for 3 days, starting from August 24 until August 26, 2017. In this 30th PIMNAS, the team from our faculty won 2 gold medals, 2 silver medals, and won one in the favorite category. The team from UGM as a whole won 2nd place nationally, pocketing in a total of 34 medals (8 gold medals, 8 silver medals, 8 bronze medals, and 10 favorites).
The first team, Give Your Heart, won gold in the poster category. This team is a collaborative art action between differently abled children and non-differently abled children, as part of the act in creating an inclusive community in Indonesia. Bernadeta Yosefani was the leader of this project, under the guidance of Ammik Kisriyani, S.Psi., M.A.
Another team, Smoking Effect Therapy, also won a gold medal from their presentation. They also won another medal, a silver one, in the poster category. Niken Laras Agustina was the leader of this project. She said that their team hoped their research could contribute to Indonesians by giving out a solution to reduce the number of smokers. Indrayanti, S.Psi., M.Si., Psikolog acted as their supervisor.
The next team, Kreativitas tanpa Batas, based their project on the construction of self-identity in Komunitas Rumah Kreatif Wadas Kelir Purwokerto through the perspective of narrative psychology. They won a silver medal in the poster category, and also won an award as the favorite presentation. Rahadian Rizal was the leader of this project; his team was supervised by Lu’luatul Chizanah, S.Psi., M.A.,
The last team that participated was Edukasi Kemandirian Finansial bagi Panti Asuhan Berkebutuhan Khusus Bina Siwi (EMANSIPASI), under the supervision of Ammik Kisriyani, S.Psi., M.A. Out of those four teams, the students from the faculty also participated in PIMNAS with other students from different faculties as their teammates.
