Thursday (23/7), Faculty of Psychology Gadjah Mada University held discussion forum between Faculty and students, that raised a topic about campus live and students. This event attended by student representatives and Student Activity Unit (BKM) in Faculty of Psychology UGM.
This online discussion forum is used by the faculty to convey various information related to university and faculty policies in managing academic activities during the COVID-19 pandemic. Some things that were conveyed by the faculties are related to academic online lecture system because the university still restrict direct activity on campus, preparation for an independent curriculum of learning and service activities.
Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A., revealed that in addition to lecture activities, research and service continue to run online. For example the seminar series and summer course activities that aimed to provide knowledge to the public in a comprehensive manner, the discussion of the material is carried holistically so that people will get comprehensive knowledge. This makes the faculty of psychology different from the others.
Beside academic information, the faculty also conveys information related to non-academic activities, such as the current state of the faculty, procedures for faculty visits, construction of F buildings, and services to the community that related to online tests conducting by UPKM (Human Quality Development Unit), Psychology Consultation Unit (UKP) and Psychodiagnostic Instrument Development Unit (UPAP).
The faculty also urges students to continue learning and take advantage of opportunities in the midst of this pandemic, as well as inviting students to actively participate, think creatively and innovatively to solve various problems both for themselves and around.
The Covid-19 Pandemic indeed invites us to see it as a challenge, how students can see from a variety of perspectives that can help faculty and society solve problems, said Prof. Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti, M.Med.Sc., Ph.D, Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation.
According to that, the faculty facilitates students by organizing Student Creativity Grant Programs in four fields, those are research, community service, entrepreneurship and startup. At the end of the discussion a question and answer session was opened to provide an opportunity for students who wanted to ask questions.
