Monday (2/8) Faculty of Psychology UGM held a Psychology Greet event. This event is a meeting and sharing session between the Dean and the students of the Faculty of Psychology. This event is a routine agenda held by the Faculty of Psychology UGM at the beginning of the new academic year.

The event starts at 08.00 WIB and ends at 09.30 WIB. The event was attended by 40 UGM Psychology Masters students who are still actively studying until this semester.

This event was opened by Dr. Arum Febriani M.A., Head of the UGM Psychology Masters Study Program who was the moderator of this event. Furthermore, the event continued with remarks from the staff of the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM.

The first speech came from the Dean of the UGM Faculty of Psychology, Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A. On this occasion, Faturochman would like to greet all the Psychology Masters students who have been studying online for several months during the Covid-19 pandemic. In addition, Faturochman also invited UGM Psychology Masters students to exchange news and share their experiences during the learning process from home.

“This is actually a very relaxing event. Our initiative, the meaning is simple, so this is an abnormal condition, if we don’t know each other we never greet each other that’s too far from normal conditions. So we want to get closer even though we can’t get too close,” explained Faturochman.

The story session was also delivered by the dean’s staff. The first is the Vice Dean for Academic Affairs for Student Affairs, Dr. Nida Ul Hasanat, M.Si who told the story of an alumni of the UGM Psychology Masters student who is also a musician.

“Well, I’m just triggering maybe later someone will sing like that, you know,” said Nida with a smile.

Furthermore, the Deputy Dean for Finance, Assets, and Human Resources, Dr. Yuli Fajar Susetya, M.Sc. which tells about his memories of traveling back home to South Kalimantan before the pandemic. This is to treat the feeling of missing the atmosphere of the trip home. Furthermore, Yuli also told the lively atmosphere of online learning as a family at home.

“Usually with the children, when I go to college with my house, it’s noisy because everyone is studying (online), maybe there are about five laptops, all of them are active because my children are still in college and still in junior high school and high school,” said Fajar.

Do not want to miss the Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, Prof. Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti, M.Med.Sc., Ph.D. also shared stories about his activities following the Experiential learning course from Covid-19. In addition, Kwartarini, who is usually called by the nickname of Bu Bo, also told about her activities at home, namely taking care of her pet chickens, guinea pigs, and fish at home as well as several other fun activities.

“I have time to look at the details of my house and have time to chat for my husband and I. I have time to understand myself at home,” said Kwartarini.

In the next session the opportunity to share stories was given to students. They also tell stories about their study from home.
