Pengen Ngobrol: Determining Career and Interests in The Field of Psychology

Determining career path after graduation sometimes require deep consideration and needs a lot of process to go through as well. According to this, Saturday, August 8, 2020, OCIA or Office of Cooperation, International Affairs and Alumni Faculty of Psychology UGM held the first online event called Pengen Ngobrol, which basically intended for students and fresh graduates.

The event can be followed for free through the Zoom Meeting application and also broadcasted live from Kanal Pengetahuan Fakultas Psikologi Universitas Gadjah Mada Youtube Channel.

Raised a theme called Determining Career and Interests in the field of Psychology, this event is expected to be a forum for alumni and students of the Faculty of Psychology UGM in particular, as well as the general public to share further about their knowledge and perspective.

Acintya Ratna Priwati, S.Psi., M.A as Lecturer at the UGM Faculty of Psychology and Diandra Pramumardani, S.Psi as Tallent Development at PERURI was selected to be the speaker for this first session. Both of them are alumni of the Faculty of Psychology UGM class of 2011.

Aiming to provide a career-related perspective in the field of psychology, the two speakers who have worked in different fields, which are academic and organization & industry field, are expected to provide a broader picture of career options and the processes behind their career choices.

According to Acintya Ratna Priwati, S.Psi., M.A, “it is important to always explore and use our time by trying various positive activities” she said. Because those experiences will later help mapping out the future interests.

Attended by 100 participants, Yopina Galih Pertiwi, S.Psi., M.A., Ph.D. as the representative from the Faculty also attending the event.
