The Faculty of Psychology UGM on Wednesday (4/8) for the second time held the Online Psychology Success Learning Training of Rumah Kita (PPSMB-PRK) 2021. This event is an agenda intended for new students at the faculty level which was officially opened by Prof. Dr. Faturochman, MA as the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM.
Through his remarks, Fatur welcomed new students, both from the regular pathway and the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). “Therefore, thank you for choosing the Faculty of Psychology, thank you also to the entire Committee, Vice Dean, Head of Study Programs, Assistant Deans, Lecturers, Education Personnel, and also the support from the Psychology Student Parents Association (POTMAPSI) who will always accompany you to optimize your potential in the Faculty of Psychology,” said Fatur.
Taking place for two days, from August 4 to August 5, Psikologi Rumah Kita was opened and broadcast live via Zoom and YouTube. The opening of the PPSMB-PRK began with a warm welcome from Yufransyah Novia Rahman and Amanda Neta Santi as MCs who wore traditional clothes from the Special Region of Yogyakarta. Then the event was continued by singing the song Indonesia Raya, the UGM Hymn, and the UGM Psychology Mars which were performed by the Psychology Faculty Choir Community, Psychorale.
This year’s PPSMB-PRK theme is Adikara Bestari which means strength and authority (Adikara), while Bestari has broad character and insight. In addition, acting as Chair of the 2021 PRK PPSMB Committee, Alvin Rizki Sitompul gave a speech as well as congratulate new students known as Gadjah Mada Muda (GAMADA). “We want to convey that here (Faculty of Psychology) is a new home for all of you,” said Alvin. This was conveyed considering that the GAMADA 2021 Faculty of Psychology came from various regions and different backgrounds. Alvin also said that this year’s PPSMB-PRK will present something that has never been presented by PPSMB-PRK so far.
Through this year’s PPSMB-PRK event, GAMADA is invited to develop leadership potential within oneself, which is not only capable of being a leader for others, but also a leader for oneself. After the opening ceremony, GAMADA will continue activities, including material on Psychology of Our Home, Faculties, Early Milestones of Dreams, and many more.
