Thursday (27/05), the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada held an event for the Release of Graduates of the Psychology S1 Study Program Period III of the 2020/2021 Academic Year, which consisted of 65 people. This period was attended by 53 people from the Regular class and 12 people from the International Class/International Undergraduate Program (IUP).
In the regular undergraduate study program, the highest Grade Point Average was achieved by Yesica Grahita Rumanti Mahambara with a GPA of 3.90 as well as earning a cum laude predicate. Besides Yesica, there were 37 other students who also won cum laude. Meanwhile, Eunike Sekar Windiyananingsih achieved the fastest study period, which was 3 years 5 months 14 days.
For the international class/International Undergraduate Program (IUP), the highest Academic Achievement Index was achieved by Anak Agung Ayu Apsari Darmesti, which was 3.93 while achieving cumlaude predicate. In addition, the fastest study period was completed for 3 years 6 months 1 day by Ajeng Prameswari Jasmine Viranty. At the graduation ceremony for this period, the remarks from the graduates were represented by Anak Agung Ayu Apsari Darmesti. “Our graduation today has 2 different meanings, namely as a sign of the end of our struggle during college as well as the beginning of something new,” said Anak in his speech.
The Faculty of Psychology UGM also gives awards to students who excel, both in academic activities and student activities. There are 47 students who excel in academic activities with cum laude predicate, and 20 students who excel in student activities, namely Aarin Sharon Latumahina, Adhi Satrio Anggoro Kusumo, Ajeng Prameswari Jasmine Viranty, Andreas Nugahita, Dwi Nurarifah, Eunike Sekar Widyananingsih, Hanindito Arief Buwono, Iffat Nabila, Marsya Pracasri, Muhammad Zaki Afif Zainurrahman, Ni Luh Vidary Wiakta Putri, Nina Febrywati, Raniar Imania Putri, Ratih Tyaswari, Renesa Balqis Safarosa Riyadi, Riska Krisnovita Harsanti, Riza Fatihah Azzahra, Rosy Puspirahita Parapat, Yesica Grahita Rumanti Mahambara, and Zidnilma Fahmalia Hazrati.
In this event, representatives of the parents of the graduates, Dr. Basukiyanto, M.Si (parents of Yesica Grahita Rumanti Mahambara) conveyed to the graduates that holding a bachelor’s degree is a form of faculty trust given to graduates and not everyone has the opportunity to get it. Therefore, do not defame alumni and alma mater and do synergy in working for the benefit of the nation’s children. A speech was also delivered by Prabaswara Dewi, S.Psi., Psychologist., as the Chair of the Gadjah Mada Psychology Alumni Family (KAPSIGAMA), who advised that don’t give up because the release of this graduation is the moment when begin to enter the real training.
Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A., also expressed his hope in his speech that graduates will always be healthy, be able to continue their careers or higher studies, and be successful, all of which are pride for the faculty.
