(10/9) Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH) Faculty of Psychology UGM lauch Suicide First Aid Guideline for Indonesians online. The event was attended by approximately 590 participants who join from WEBEX and also from live stream in CPMH Psi UGM Youtube channel.
Starting at 3.30 PM, the event began with short opening speech from Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A., Dean of Faculty of Psychology UGM. He appreciated the launch of this guideline, and he hoped that this will provide benefits to broader community.
The guideline is a collaborative project between CPMH, Faculty of Psychology UGM and Middlesex University, London, with researchers, Dr. Erminia Colucci; Prof. Dr. Sofia Retnowati; Prof. Dr. Noor Hadjam S. U., Psi; Dr. Diana Setiyawati M. HSc. Psy; Fuad Hamsyah, M.Sc; Nurul Kusuma Hidayati S.Psi., M.Psi., Psi; Nabila Puspakesuma, M.Sc .; Wulan Nur Jatmika, S.Psi; and Sarah Kartika Pratiwi, S.Psi.
In addition to the launching, presentation on issues about suicide and mental health, which was presented by Dr. Siti Khalimah, SpKJ, MARS as Director of Prevention and Control of Mental Health Problems and Drugs (Directorate General of Disease Prevention and Control – Indonesian Ministry of Health), Dr. Erminia Colucci from Middlesex University, London, also inform about collaboration for Psychological First Aid Guidelines on Suicide Attempts that she previously carried out with in other countries.
At the end of the session, Prof. Dr. Sofia Retnowati and Dr. Diana Setiyawati M. HSc. Psy. provides brief explanation about guide, including some descriptions of the content, such as how to identify if someone is going to commit suicide, the signs and how to keep that person safe.
The guideline is planned to be distributed for free by CPMH on website cpmh.psikologi.ugm.ac.id next week.
