(30/7) Anxiety and depression are some of the topic in psychology that has various age range of subject, from teenager to adult.
This topic also become dissertation topic by Metta Rahmadiana, M.Si., Ph.D (cand), lecturer from Faculty of Psychology UGM and Ph.D candidate from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. She share the topic on this biweekly coloquioum (KDM) that held by Promovendus Club (PC) from Doctor of Psychological Science Program. The session was attended by Rahmat Hidayat, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the Head of Doctor of Psychological Science Program and the other 90 participants via Zoom Meeting.
Metta Rahmadiana, M.Si., Ph.D (cand) conduct a research about anxiety and depression in college students, because this a transition period from adolescence to early adulthood. Besides students also faced new situation, new campus environment and academic pressure that different from what they had before, so this issue can cause psychological distress.
In her dissertation, she conducted a special research study using internet-based interventions used to help students with anxiety and depression. The program is called AiMental-WELLness which was originally an online intervention that applied to the general population in Germany and Switzerland. But for her dissertation, the intervention was designed for the student in Indonesia, so there are conditions that need to be adapted to Indonesian culture.
In this session she explained about the procedures and flow of participants, results, feasibility to acceptibility of this online intervention.
After the sharing session, the event was closed with a Q & A session that guided by moderator.
