International Guest Lecture Series: Hallucination on Demand

(13/11) Faculty of Psychology UGM organized sixth International Guest Lecture Series that raised a topic about Hallucination on Demand: Using Lab-Induced Hallucinations and Illusions to Study Visual Hallucinations.

Sebastian Rogers, Ph.D, from Future Minds Lab – University of New South Wales, had the opportunity to become the speaker at this session. He conveyed about concepts and definition of illusions. According to him, illusion is involuntary false perception in the absence if appropriate external stimulation of the corresponding sensory organ. Furthermore, Sebastian addressed about visual illusions and the research by Future Minds Lab about this topic that carried out using physiological measuring instruments.

The event was attended by 60 students, lecturers and public. It was held online through Zoom Meeting at 07.30 – 09.10 AM.

After the presentation, the session was closed with question and answer session, guided by the moderator, Galang Lufityanto, M.Psi, Ph.D, one of the lecturers at Faculty of Psychology UGM.
