International Guest Lecture Series 3: Health Psychology & Well-Being

Faculty of Psychology UGM organize the third International Guest Lecture Series on Friday, October 30, 2020. The issue for this session was Health Psychology & Well-being.

The event was mostly attended by students from Faculty of Psychology UGM.

Ashley Murray, P.hD, Postdoctoral Fellow, from the National Cancer Institute USA had the opportunity to taught in this session.

In her presentation, Ashley explained about health psychology & wellness, as well as how the contribution of psychology related to this matter. She also explain about psychological models of healthy behavior and examples of psychology and health. Furthermore, she mention that being healthy is becoming healthy physically, mentally and socially.

In addition, she also explained about the Health Belief Model. The key to this construct is perceived susceptibility, seriousness, benefits and barriers which will influence how a person behave (actions).

The event was closed with question and answer session, guided by the moderator, Adelia Khrisna Putri, S.Psi., M.Sc, a lecturers at the Faculty of Psychology UGM.
