Graduation of the Psychology Postgraduate Study Program Period IV Academic Year 2020/2021

The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada held an event for the Release of Graduates of the Psychology Postgraduate Study Program Period IV Academic Year 2020/2021 on Wednesday (28/7). In this period, the Faculty of Psychology succeeded in graduating 17 graduates, consisting of 6 graduates from the Master of Science Psychology Study Program and 11 graduates from the Professional Psychology Masters Study Program.

The highest-Grade Point Average in this period was 3.93, which was achieved by Syurawasti Muhiddin from the Psychology Science Masters Study Program. In addition, Syurawasti also won a cum laude predicate together with Andrea Prita Purnama Ratri from the Psychology Science Masters Study Program. Meanwhile, the best thesis publication from the Psychology Masters Study Program was also achieved by Syurawasti Muhiddin entitled “The Effect of Social Identity and Social Comparison on Intentions to Conduct Sustainable Behavior by Controlling Attitudes, Subjective Norms, and Perceptions of Behavioral Control” with Yopina Galih Pertiwi, MA, Ph.D as a supervisor.

In the Master Program in Professional Psychology, the highest-Grade Point Average is 3.83 by Rinekso Wismanto Laban. Meanwhile, Annisa Karuniawati won the best publication manuscript with the title “The Role of Workforce Agility and Perveiced Organization on Performance” with Dr. Sumaryono, M.Sc., Psychologist as supervisor.

In this event, the remarks from the graduates were represented by Syurawasti Muhiddin who said that the COVID-19 pandemic is one of the tests that are not easy on the way to completing education. “However, one thing is for sure, we have all come to a moment where not everyone who wants it can achieve it,” said Syurawasti. Syurawasti also congratulated her colleagues on taking part while maintaining the good name of the alma mater.

Furthermore, the process of taking the Professional Psychologist Oath in this period was led by Dr. Andik Matulessy, M.Sc., Psychologist as Secretary General of the Central Leadership of the Indonesian Psychological Association (HIMPSI). In addition, Andik also gave a speech by conveying three things as messages for graduates. The three messages are about the code of ethics, competency development, and the obligation to provide the widest possible benefit to society.

Then, Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A as the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM also conveyed a message to all graduates that they must continue to improve their competencies, skills, and soft skills. “With this, we release you with our heartfelt prayers for our success, health and progress together,” said Faturochman at the end of his speech.
