The Faculty of Psychology UGM on Friday (25/06) held a socialization with the topic “Discussing MBKM Implementation of the Faculty of Psychology UGM”. This event was held by several parties consisting of the Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Psychology UGM, Internship Implementation Team, Career Center, and Office of Cooperation, International Affairs, and Alumni (OCIA). The purpose of this event is to explain about the implementation of MBKM at the Faculty of Psychology UGM, the MBKM Apprentice registration mechanism, and the introduction of the Apprenticeship registration system at SIT. In addition, this event was also accompanied by Acintya Ratna Pratiwi, S.Psi., M.A as the host and was opened by remarks from the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, namely, Dr. Nida Ul Hasanat, M.Sc.
The Merdeka Learning Program Merdeka Campus or which can be abbreviated as MBKM is a program organized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia. This program aims to provide opportunities for students to hone skills according to their interests and talents by going directly into the world of work to prepare for future careers. “This moment is held to encourage all of us for internships,” said Nida in her speech.
Details of the MBKM Internship program were presented in the first session of this event by Elga Andriana, S.Psi., M.Ed, Ph.D as MBKM Activities Coordinator. This session explains what an internship is and its types. “The Internship Program held at the Faculty of Psychology UGM aims to provide a learning experience as well as to have a complete experience and be ready to enter the world of work in accordance with the competence in the field of psychology,” explained Elga. There are 8 types of internships, namely student exchanges, work practices, teaching assistants in education units, research assistants, humanitarian projects, entrepreneurial activities, independent studies/projects, and village development/kkn.
In the next session, Satwika Rahapsari, S.Psi., M.A., R-DMT as a member of the MBKM Faculty Team explained the MBKM registration mechanism through SIT. The internship scheme is divided into three, independent which requires students to find internship opportunities themselves, offers by the faculty, and offers by the government. Overall, the registration process is similar, but the difference is in the point of submitting a proposal for an independent apprenticeship scheme and there is a selection process for the apprenticeship scheme offered by the government.
Then in the next session, Galang Lufityanto, M.Psi., Ph.D as the Head of the Psychology Undergraduate Study Program explained about the conversion of credits by Galang Lufityanto, M.Psi., Ph.D. “For the class of 2019 there are no internship courses, therefore conversions will occur. Meanwhile, for the class of 2020, there are internship courses,” explained Galang. In addition, this event also explained about the direct simulation of internship registration through SIT delivered by Ardian Praptomojati, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psychologist and an explanation of the adjustment of the internship program to the International Undergraduate Program (IUP) which was delivered by the Head of the International Study Program.
