CPMH Closes Online Sharing Session with Mental Health During The Pandemic Topic

(05/05) Public Center for Mental Health (CPMH) held the seventh online series of sharing sessions on Tuesday, May 5, 2020. The session titled “Mental Health During Pandemic“. The speakers this last CPMH session are, Prof. Dr. Kwartarini W Yuniarti, MMed.Sc., Psychologist, as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service and Cooperation; Tri Hayuning Tyas, M.A., Psychologist, as lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology UGM and clinical psychologist; Dr. Diana Setiyawati, M.HSc., Psychologist, as lecturer, psychologist, and Head of Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH) Faculty of Psychology UGM; Nurul Kusuma Hidayati, M.Psi., Psychologist, as psychologist at CPMH, UKP and Gama Medical Center (GMC) UGM; and Wirdatul Anisa, M.Psi., Psychologist, as psychologist at CPMH, UKP, and one of the private service facilities in Yogyakarta.

The event was start at 10.00 AM to 2.00 PM. Starting with an opening by Prof. Dr. Kwartarini W Yuniarti, MMed.Sc., a Psychologist, followed by Tri Hayuning Tyas, M.A., a Psychologist and Dr. Diana Setiyawati, M.HSc., Psychologist as The Head of CPMH.

This session was held through the WhatsApp Messenger group. Previously, participants were required to register online through the link provided by the committee for free. During sharing session, participants were wrote questions about mental health during pandemic. Next, the questions will be managed by CPMH and answered by the speakers based on the categorization. This event is intended for public in order to embrace the wider community.

The questions from the participants are varied, ranging from coping methods to communication tips in order to minimize communicating that potentially offending each other during this pandemic.

The session was carried out in parallel through 12 WhatsApp groups, moderated by research staff and students of the Faculty of Psychology, with a total of 2985 participants. The age, education and professional backgrounds of the participants were diverse. Starting from freelancers, housewife, medical personnel to students.
