Thursday (5/8) UGM Psychology Faculty held a closing ceremony for the 2021 Student Success Learning Training for New Psychology Students at Our Home (PPSMB-PRK). This event was the culmination of the two-day PPSMB-PRK UGM event which started on Wednesday (4/8). This event is a continuation of the UGM PPSMB series of events which started on Monday (2/8).
The closing ceremony took place from 15.50 WIB to 17.00 WIB. This event was held online through a zoom meeting and can be watched live via the Knowledge Channel of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada.
The event opened with several art performances. The first performance was a virtual drama performance played by four members of the Keluarga Rapat Sebuah Teater (KRST). This was followed by Indian and modern dance choreography as well as acoustic music from students of the Faculty of Psychology UGM.
Furthermore, in this event, new students took part in a session on making colossal formations at the zoom meeting. The formation that is formed in such a way that it forms a unique and interesting pattern symbolizes a message that reads “I am proud and dynamic with my good friends. We have one hope, one mission and one goal. Today was fun. But I realized that life is not always fun. But I promise I will keep trying to reach my goals. Because I am the main character in my life. I will remain strong in the face of challenges and trials to achieve my goals and ideals in the future. Young Gadjah Mada welcome to the new home of the Faculty of Psychology, Gadjah Mada University”.
Furthermore, at the main event, the closing of the entire series of PPSMB-PRK 2021 events was officially closed by the Deputy Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Dr. Nida Ul Hasanah M.Sc. In her speech, Nida congratulated all new students who had participated in the entire series of PPSMB-PRK activities.
“You guys can already feel the dynamics yesterday working in groups with friends, seniors and lecturers in PPSMB and PRK events. All of these ups and downs, of course, will be a very valuable experience for all of us,” said Nida while emphasizing the importance of this PPSMB-PRK event to start life on campus as well as a sign that new students have been accepted as part of the UGM family.
Furthermore, Nida also thanked all the committees and lecturers involved in the PPSMB-PRK 2021 event from the beginning to the end of the event. Nida hopes that all the events that have been running at the PPSMB-PRK 2021 event will spark the enthusiasm of students in undergoing the lecture process in the future.
Furthermore, the symbolic procession of the closing ceremony of the PPSMB-PRK 2021 was turning off the torch in the coal furnace by the chairman of the PPSMB-PRK 2021 Alfin Riski Sitompul. By turning off the embers, it indicates that the entire series of PPSMB-PRK 2021 events have been completed.
In the final session of the event as a gift to new students who have finished participating in the 2021 PPSMB-PRK, the event committee presented the choreography of the PPSMB-PRK 2021 Jingle song. The offering is also a form of warm welcome and appreciation for new students who have participated in the 2021 PPSMB-PRK.
