On Friday (23/03), the faculty was visited by the Indonesian Psychocultural Consorsium, also known as Konsorsium Psikokultural Indonesia (KPI), with Prof. Dr. Irmawati, M.Si., Psikolog as the coordinator. The members of the consorsium are the Faculty of Psychology in Universitas Sumatera Utara (USU), UNIKA Atmajaya Jakarta’s Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Andalas’ Psychology Study Program, and the Robert Lemelson Foundation. Other than Prof. Irmawati, the representatives of Indonesian Psychocultural Consorsium are Prof. Bernadette Setiadi, Ph.D., Dr. Nani Nurrahman, Dr. Dhevy, Agnes Utari Hanum Ayuningtias, M.Psi., Psikolog., Meutia Nauli, M.Si., Sartana, M.Si., Ninik Supartini, M.Si., Dr. Mahar M., Sp.Kj., and Dr. Angela.
In this visitation, the Indonesian Psychocultural Consorsium talked about research collaboration with our faculty. The consorsium requested collaboration with the faculty through our Center for Indigenous and Cultural Psychology (CICP) as a partner in Indonesian Psychocultural Consorsium’s research project. The research project is themed “Identity, Self-Esteem, Life Satisfaction, Attitude toward Multiculturalism among Young Adults from Five Ethnic Groups in Indonesia.” The five ethnic groups are Minangkabau, Batak, Tionghoa, Jawa, and Bali.
Furthermore, Prof. Irmawati explained that in the future, the manuscprit of the research results will be presented in a mini conference and will be published by the Indonesian Psychocultural Consorsium as a book.
Gadjah Mada University’s Faculty of Psychology, represented in the meeting by Prof. Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti, M.Med.Sc., Ph.D, Wenty Marina Minza, M.A., Ph.D, and Erna Kartini, S.E., looked forward to this collaboration. They also advised and discussed some suggestions regarding the methods, research execution, and the scheme of the collaboration.
Hopefully, the research will do well and give benefits for Indonesian society.
