The 2017 National Scientific Summit of the Association of Social Psychology: Gathering of Researchers from All Around Indonesia

On November 9 – 11, 2017, The 2017 National Scientific Summit of the Association of Social Psychology (Temu Ilmiah Nasional Ikatan Psikologi Sosial 2017, commonly referred to as Temilnas-IPS) was held in the Faculty of Psychology in Gadjah Mada University. The theme for this event was Harmony in Diversity. The summit started at 7 a.m. that Thursday, with a workshop titled “Constructive Realism: From Data to Theory” that ended at 5 p.m. Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A., Dr. Siti Rohmah Nurhayati, Dr. Wenty Marina Minza, M.A., and Dr. Tri Rejeki Andayani participated as panelists. There were 54 people from various universities in Indonesia that attended the workshop.

After the workshop, there was a conference, held on Friday (11/10) and Saturday (11/11). Undergraduates, postgraduates, and doctoral students from various universities participated in the The Temilnas-IPS conference, making a total of 176 participants. The conference was divided into several rooms throughout the faculty. On Friday, 6 rooms were used, which were G-100, A-203, A-214, C-101, D-404, and D-406. On Saturday, there rooms used were A-203, A-214, C-101, C-102, D-404, and D-406.

During the conference, each room had a presentation session that matched the subthemes. The subthemes of the conference were: Choosing Behavior; Gender, Work, and Family; Our Environment and Diversity; Multiculturalism and Interculturalism; Technology, the Internet, and Social Media; Religion and Intergroup Relations; Research Methodology and Testing; Health Psychology; Mental Health and Well-Being; Diversity Politics and Nationalism; Conflict Resolution; Relations Within and Between Generations; and Minority and Marginalized Groups. The closing ceremony was held on Saturday in G-100 at 11.30 a.m., with Prof. James H. Liu delivering a speech as a keynote speaker. (Dita)
