Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A Wins the 2016-2021 Dean of Faculty Election

Thursday (8/9), Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A was appointed as the new Dean of Faculty of Psychology as per written in the Rector’s Decree No 3867/UNIP/KL/SET-R/2016. Faturochman won against two other candidates, Dr. Neila Ramadhani, M. Si., M.Ed., and Rahmat Hidayat, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D. This marks Fathur’s second tenure as the dean of faculty, the first being the 2008-2012 period.

Selection for dean of faculty had been in progress since the formation of selection committee by Faculty Senate whose task was to conduct and oversee the selection process. The committee members were as follows:

  3. Prof. Endang Ekowarni
  4. Prof. Dr. Sofia Retnowati, M.S

  6. Drs. Fathul Himam, M.Psi.,M.A.,Ph.D
  7. Diana Setiyawati,S.Psi.,MHSc.,Ph.D.

The selection committee first announced the registration for the selection for dean of faculty. Next, the selection committee verified the completion and the authenticity of the required documents, and then rated the applicants based on certain criteria. The dean candidates presented their strategy in accomplishing target as well as their vision and mission last Friday (12/8) during a session that was attended by fellow candidates, the dean of faculty, the selection committee, teaching staffs and student representatives. The three candidates told the audience their plans and leadership strategies in the future.

Faturochman detailed his strategy of fortifying the role of faculty of psychology on both a national and global level. “Developing organizational climate by applying several innovative ideas to create a better condition and results,” he said. In this context, he emphasized the role of learning style and innovative curriculum in creating students and alumni with competence in research and scientific study. Equally crucial was establishing and maintaining strategic and synergic partnerships with several parties such as the POTMAPSI, AP2TPI, HIMPSI, government institutions, corporations, and NGOs to support various faculty activities.

The appointment ceremony will be held on 7 October 2016.
