The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), successfully held the Young Alumni Gathering “Pulang: Psikologi Muda Kolaborasi Antar Angkatan” on Friday (Sept 5) at Taman Cinta, Faculty of Psychology UGM. The event brought together alumni from the 2010 to 2021 cohorts under the theme “Returning Home: Remembering the Past, Creating the Future.”

This hybrid event served as a reunion, a moment of nostalgia, and a collaborative space reconnecting alumni with their alma mater. Through this gathering, the Faculty of Psychology UGM aims to strengthen ties with its alumni while facilitating the formation of a broader professional network.

“This reunion was organized especially for alumni from 2010–2021. At the early stages of one’s career journey, it is important to maintain the bonds established at UGM Psychology. Our strength lies not only in personal capital but also in networks. Hopefully, this reunion will expand the network among alumni,” said Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Rahmat Hidayat, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D.

One of the main agendas was the launch of the official LinkedIn platform of the Faculty of Psychology UGM. This platform was initiated as a communication space to share experiences and build mutually beneficial collaborations among alumni, lecturers, and students. The presence of LinkedIn is expected to bridge alumni needs in the professional world while also supporting scientific and career development in various fields, from clinical, education, to industry.

An alumni sharing session titled “(In) the Future” featured speakers from lecturers, researchers, and alumni representatives who shared stories and perspectives on career journeys, professional challenges, and future visions for psychology in Indonesia.

“This reunion is not only about reuniting and reminiscing but also about expanding connections, building networks, and opening doors for future collaborations,” said representative of the Alumni Family of the Faculty of Psychology UGM (KAPSIGAMA), Very Julianto, M.Si., Psychologist.
