Pengen Ngobrol: Career Insights in The Field of Computational Social Science Research

Saturday, August 22, Faculty of Psychology UGM held online sharing session with alumni called Pengen Ngobrol. This event was a collaboration that organized by Faculty of Psychology and Office of Cooperation, International Affairs and Alumni (OCIA) Faculty of Psychology UGM, and already held for the second time.

Career Insights in the Field of Computational Social Science Research brought up as the topic for this second session. Firman M. Firmansyah, alumni from Faculty of Psychology UGM Class of 2007 had the opportunity to become the speaker for this event. According to Firman, psychology graduates who wants to pursue career in computational social science research need to prepare and learn the basics of mathematics and logic, because this will support them in the future. On the other hand, educational background in the field of psychology can also be an added value in this field.

This session was attended by 65 participants from UGM and public. Graduate candidates from Faculty of Psychology for August 2020 period also attending this event. Fuad Hamsyah, S.Psi., M.Sc. as the representative from the Faculty convey particular words to graduate candidates, despite of this pandemic situation, they must keep their spirit, never stop learning and keep doing positive activity.

The event was closed with question and answer session that guided by moderator.
