On 20 – 22 August 2019, students of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Ajeng Prameswari along with students of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, Saut Togu Pandiangan, have a poster competition held at The 2nd Asia Pacific Youth Leadership Summit 2019 by The University of North Malaya. Activities held in Penang, Malaysia consists of leadership training and poster competition.
The poster competition held as part of The 2nd Asia Pacific Youth Leadership Summit 2019 event was raised in the theme of The United Nations Sustainable Goals. From the big theme, there are 5 sub-theme that can be chosen by the participants. Theme Number 5 is gender equality or gender equality chosen by Ajeng and the team as a theme on posters that will be made.
There are three stages that participants must follow in this poster race. First, the academic evaluation stage is the stage that evaluates the content of the poster. The next stage is a mini-presentation in front of the jury where the participants are required to explain the contents of the poster to the jury that is traveling to each participant. At the last stage, you will be chosen 10 best groups of 25 groups to then select the winners of this race.
Posters made by Ajeng’s team contains the importance of gender equality, especially in the field of education. This poster managed to bring Ajeng’s team into the top 10 groups so as to get a chance to present posters in front of all participants and judges. At the announcement of the winners, Ajeng’s team was chosen to be the runner up in this poster competition which also defeated several participants from Malaysia and Thailand.
“I feel good to be able to join this race and become a representative of UGM, especially from the beginning is not expected to win because the poster itself is done in a short time but Alhamdulillah can be able to champion”, said Ajeng.
