Tuesday (10/8), the Academic Orientation of the Graduate Program for the academic year 2021/2022 was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A. This activity is an activity that must be followed by all new graduate students from the Master of Psychology, Masters of Professional Psychology and Doctorate Programs. This event was conducted online.
Through his speech, Faturochman said, “We will strive to provide facilities, learning, research, and even community service for your life in the future”.
In supporting these efforts, the faculty provides opportunities for students to do internships in units within the faculty. The faculty also provides financial assistance for students who will take part in competitions and conferences. In terms of learning and research, the faculty has established great international relations by collaborating with various well-known universities abroad such as Harvard University, The University of New South Wales, The University of Sydney, University College London, and the University of Groningen.
One of the new students of the Master of Professional Psychology Study Program who is also an alumnus of the Undergraduate Program, Gracia Amara, said “I feel that I have grown a lot after entering the Faculty of Psychology UGM and have had a lot of positive impacts. That’s what made me choose to continue my studies here.”
In this five-day event, new students were invited to get to know Gadjah Mada University in general and the Faculty of Psychology UGM in particular. Not only that, but the faculty also provides general lectures, and various self-development materials and theory strengthening, such as materials on Becoming a Successful Learner, Psychological Preparedness in Facing Disasters and Crisis Situations, and Internalization of RESPECT Values.
