Good news comes from the UGM Faculty of Psychology Debate Team, led by Nadia Puti Dianesti (2021), with members Seravin Afra Secunda (2022) and Sinta Damayanti (2021), who successfully won first place in the Psyferia 2023 Debate Competition at Universitas Padjadjaran on Sunday (8/10). Not only that, the UGM Psychology Faculty team also received awards as the 3rd Best Speaker by Seravin and the 8th Best Speaker by Nadia out of more than 60 debate participants. This national psychology debate competition was participated by representatives from various universities in Indonesia, including Diponegoro University, University of Indonesia, and Sanata Dharma University.
On Wednesday (12/7), the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH) Faculty of Psychology UGM held an Online Summer Lecture Series (OSLS) 2023 themed Mental Health in the Digital World. Dr. Wenty Marina Minza, M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, officially opened the OSLS and will continue until July 26th.
On Tuesday (11/7), the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), was visited by the Laboratory of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Muhammadiyah Surakarta (UMS). The visit was received in room A-203 by Galang Lufityanto, M.Psi., Ph.D., Psychologist, Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Faculty of Psychology, UGM.
Monday (19/6), the Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) conducted a field visit and exchange in collaboration with the Sydney Southeast Asia Centre. Apart from students from the University of Sydney, the Center for Indigenous and Cultural Psychology (CICP) and the Student Activity Unif of Diffable Care (SAUDC) were also present as partners in organizing the field visit & exchange entitled Disability Inclusion and Rights Fulfillment in Indonesia.
Dyah Pitaloka Putri Sutanto, a UGM Psychology student who was successfully named the 2022 Most Active Inspiring Student National Ambassador. The selection of ambassadors was carried out by the Ragam Class as a platform for self-development and Creative Education for Indonesian Children. The election of ambassadors is one means of voicing ideas for the country. “For me, the opportunity to speak to represent the province where I grew up is a calling that I have long wanted,” said Dyah, his nickname.
The Psychology Study Program, Faculty of Medicine, Udayana University visited the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) on Friday (1/7). Rahmat Hidayat, S.Psi., M.Sc., Ph.D., Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, UGM, received the visit in the Kamen Room, Building A, 2nd Floor, Faculty of Psychology, UGM. The activity lasted from 15.30 WIB to 17.00 WIB and was attended by 9 participants from Udayana University’s Faculty of Medicine.
(27/8) The Psychodiagnostic Tool Development Unit (UPAP) of the Faculty of Psychology UGM held a workshop and seminar on Introduction to the Use of Analysis Software in Psychometrics. This workshop and seminar will be held for two days on 27th August and 3rd September 2021 online. This is the 4th event organized by UPAP related to data analysis training. Not only workshops and training, but this activity will also be continued with In House Training every Friday starting from 08.00 a.m to 16.00 p.m.
Saturday (14/8) the Faculty of Psychology UGM together with the Association of Students’ Parents of the Faculty of Psychology (POTMAPSI) held a Parental Meeting of Freshmen 2021. This meeting is a routine agenda held for freshmen’s parents to give them various information related to the study, curriculum, facilities, and also student activities.
Tuesday (10/8), the Academic Orientation of the Graduate Program for the academic year 2021/2022 was officially opened by the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology UGM, Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A. This activity is an activity that must be followed by all new graduate students from the Master of Psychology, Masters of Professional Psychology and Doctorate Programs. This event was conducted online.
Along with the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in the faculty, the Faculty of Psychology UGM again held Psychological First Aid (PFA) training for the COVID-19 Survivor Volunteer Task Force Team. This Volunteer Task Force team is a team formed by the Faculty of Psychology UGM to help COVID-19 survivors in the Faculty of Psychology UGM in overcoming psychological problems. This is one of the prevention efforts by the faculty so that the fear and anxiety felt by survivors do not develop into mental health problems or disorders.
