Wednesday (20/01) the Faculty of Psychology, Gadjah Mada University held a Release for Period II Graduates of the Academic Year 2020/2021 for the Postgraduate Program. This event was attended by 21 postgraduate students of Master of Psychology and Masters of Professional Psychology. The number of graduates from the Masters in Psychology is 3 people and the Masters in Professional Psychology are 18 people, so that the total number of graduates of the Postgraduate Program at the Faculty of Psychology, Gadjah Mada University is 3,069 alumni from the Postgraduate level.
In the Professional Psychology Masters Program, the highest grade point average is 3.90, achieved by Ardian Rahman Afandi and also with a cum laude predicate. Ardian was also the representative of the graduates who gave a speech at the ceremony. Through his remarks, Ardian invited him to continue his journey and journey by stepping into the future. “A new beginning to step into the future with better efforts and hopes. Utilizing the provisions that have been given by the teacher to work, make legations, and provide benefits to Psychology, society and the country”.
In this period, the Psychology Masters Program had 8 cum laude graduates and 10 very satisfying graduates. Ni Wayan Yuli Anggraeni achieved the shortest study period with a study period of 2 years 1 month 20 days.
From the Psychology Masters Program, the highest grade point average is 3.60, which was achieved by Shidqi Irbah with the predicate of being very satisfying as well as being a graduate with the shortest study period, which is 2 years 6 months 26 days. In addition, there are 1 other graduates who get the predicate very satisfying and 1 person with the predicate satisfactory.
The Faculty of Psychology also gave an award to a professional psychology master student, Ade Meilasari, as a graduate with the best thesis publication script. Ade conducted a study on “The Role of Self-Compassion on Depression Symptoms in Adolescents mediated by Emotion Regulation”. Ade Meilasari conducted the research with Dra. Muhana Sofiati Utami, M.S., Ph.D. as the supervisor.
The graduation ceremony for the graduates was filled with remarks from Dr. Seger Handoyo, Psikolog as Chairman of HIMPSI. Through his speech, Dr. Seger Handoyo, Psikolog advised the alumni to continue to maintain professionalism, as psychologists and masters of psychology who carry out continuous self-development, use the concept of psychological theory from research results for psychological practice, and always rely on psychological practice with the Indonesian psychological code of ethics applicable law.
Besides that Prof. Dr. Faturochman, M.A., as the Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Gadjah Mada University in his remarks also gave hope that the graduates would become independent, successful, accomplished, and useful for society as well as for themselves, and always maintain good values and attitudes.
