The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with TVRI Yogyakarta, once again presents OPSI: Obrolan Psikologi (Psychology Talk) with its sixteenth episode, airing on Tuesday, November 18, 2025, from 3:00–4:00 PM WIB. This episode raises the theme “Small Steps, Big Dreams: A Lifelong Learning Journey of an Individual with Intellectual Disability,” which discusses the experiences of individuals with intellectual disabilities in continuously developing their potential through meaningful small steps.

Appearing as speakers in this episode are Elga Andriana, S.Psi, M.Ed, Ph.D., a lecturer at the Faculty of Psychology UGM, and Christopher Florensco Raditya S, an intern at CLSD and an individual with an intellectual disability. Elga explains the concept of intellectual disability, the importance of having an appropriate support system, and various abilities that can be developed and taught through consistent and contextual approaches. Meanwhile, Christopher, who is familiarly known as Seto, shares his learning experiences. He explains that when he does not understand the material, he always asks questions and finds it easier to learn with the help of pictures or visual media so that concepts become more concrete. Seto also acknowledges that he experiences difficulties in economics and mathematics subjects.

“Regarding learning opportunities, I am grateful that together with Seto we received the Uni 2 Beyond Award from Australia to study a special higher education program for individuals with intellectual disabilities for two weeks at the University of Sydney,” said Elga.
