The Psychodiagnostic Instrument Development Unit (UPAP) of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), conducted the first pilot test for the development of the Agility Test at SMA Negeri 1 Kalasan on Thursday, February 26, 2026. This activity was part of a program aimed at mapping students’ academic potential, organized through a collaboration between the school and the Faculty of Psychology UGM. The pilot test marked an initial step in the process of developing a more comprehensive and adaptive assessment instrument tailored to the needs of secondary school students.

The activity began with an opening session and completion of an online form from 12:40 to 13:00 WIB. During this stage, testers and co-testers prepared the testing equipment while guiding participants through the initial administrative process. Thorough preparation was carried out to ensure that the entire assessment process ran in an orderly, effective manner and in accordance with established operational standards.

The main testing session started with the administration of the Gadjah Mada Scholastic Test (GMST) for 120 minutes, consisting of verbal, quantitative, and figural subtests. The verbal subtest lasted 30 minutes, followed by the quantitative subtest for 40 minutes, and the figural subtest for 30 minutes. After completing the GMST session, participants were given a 10-minute break before continuing with the Agility Test, which lasted 25 minutes, with timing monitored using a stopwatch to ensure precise test duration.

A total of 510 students from Grades X and XI participated in the activity, utilizing 28 classrooms as testing venues. To support the technical implementation in each room, UPAP involved 14 testers and 14 co-testers responsible for supervising the test and ensuring that administrative procedures were properly followed. Strong coordination among the staff was an important factor in maintaining the overall quality of the assessment process.

Through this pilot test, UPAP expects to obtain valid and reliable empirical data as the basis for refining the Agility Test instrument. The results will be further analyzed to ensure that the developed measurement tool meets the required psychometric standards. This activity also highlights UPAP’s commitment to delivering accurate and beneficial innovations in psychological assessment for the field of education.
