Boundless Synergy: CPMH UGM and Local Partners Distribute Hundreds of Humanitarian Aid Packages for Flood Survivors in Aceh

The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, through the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH), continues its humanitarian support for communities affected by flash floods in Aceh. Following the delivery process and coordination with local partners, assistance in the form of dignity kits and other essential items has been received and directly distributed to residents in several affected areas in North Aceh.

Commemorating its 61st anniversary on January 8, 2026, the Faculty of Psychology of Universitas Gadjah Mada adopts the theme “Psychology in Synergy Toward a Resilient and Prosperous Nation.” This spirit is not merely a slogan, but a tangible reflection embodied in a series of reputable international scientific publications produced by the academic community of the Faculty of Psychology UGM over the past year. We have compiled these publications as a “special gift” that highlights the Faculty’s contributions across three main pillars: global mental health, Indonesian local wisdom, and disaster resilience.

The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada, in collaboration with TVRI Yogyakarta, once again presents OPSI: Obrolan Psikologi (Psychology Talk) in its seventeenth episode, aired on Tuesday, 2 December 2025, from 15:00 to 16:00 WIB. This episode raises the theme “The Dilemma of Two Worlds: Work vs Family,” discussing the challenges faced by families in which both partners are working. The episode invites the public to understand the dynamics of roles and demands between the workplace and family life, as well as the importance of communication, fair division of roles, and emotional awareness in maintaining harmonious relationships.

This episode raises the theme “Small Steps, Big Dreams: A Lifelong Learning Journey of an Individual with Intellectual Disability,” which discusses the experiences of individuals with intellectual disabilities in continuously developing their potential through meaningful small steps.

The Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), in collaboration with TVRI Yogyakarta, once again presents OPSI: Obrolan Psikologi (Psychology Talk) with its fifteenth episode, airing on Tuesday, November 4, 2025, from 3:00–4:00 PM WIB. This episode raises the theme “Fight Overthinking, Stay Sane, and Keep Work on Track!”. The discussion focuses on overthinking that often arises in the workplace due to excessive demands, pressure, and expectations. The episode explores how overthinking can affect mental health and daily work performance. It also discusses ways to manage overthinking in order to remain mentally healthy and productive at work.

This episode raises the theme “In Step Together: Building Resilience in the Workplace,” which discusses ways to remain resilient in a work environment filled with demands and pressures.

UGM Faculty of Psychology Receives Research Grant on Transcendental Meditation from Maharishi Global Raam Raj Foundation

The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), through Prof. Dra. Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti, M.Med.Sc., Ph.D., Psikolog, has received a research grant from the Maharishi Global Raam Raj Foundation (YMGGR) to conduct a collaborative study on Transcendental Meditation (TM). This partnership was formalized with the signing of a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) between both parties on June 23, 2025.

The research aims to examine the benefits and cultural compatibility of Transcendental Meditation within Indonesian school settings, with Yogyakarta as the initial research site. The project will also explore the potential of TM to support character development, well-being, and personal growth among young students.

CPMH: OSLS 2023

CPMH UGM Holds Online Summer Lecture Series 2023

On Wednesday (12/7), the Center for Public Mental Health (CPMH) Faculty of Psychology UGM held an Online Summer Lecture Series (OSLS) 2023 themed Mental Health in the Digital World. Dr. Wenty Marina Minza, M.A., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, and Cooperation, officially opened the OSLS and will continue until July 26th. read more
