The Faculty of Psychology at Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) continues to strengthen its international academic network. This commitment was highlighted by the visit of Prof. Drs. Subandi, M.A., Ph.D., Psikolog , a prominent professor from the faculty, to Universiti Malaysia Terengganu (UMT) from April 6 to 9, 2026.
During this visit, Subandi served as a visiting professor and was warmly welcomed by the Dean of the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Social Development (FPEPS). This strategic meeting focused on bolstering institutional cooperation and discussing academic advancements relevant to both universities.
As part of his clinical and academic engagement, Subandi delivered a public lecture to students in the Counseling study program. The lecture provided deep insights into counseling theories and practices, which currently reside under the Faculty of Social Development at UMT. The students showed great enthusiasm, engaging in discussions regarding future psychosocial challenges.
This visit is particularly significant as Universiti Malaysia Terengganu prepares to launch its own Psychology study program next year. The presence of a senior professor from UGM is expected to provide valuable guidance and serve as a bridge for future collaborations, including curriculum development, joint research, and faculty or student exchange programs.
This initiative aligns with the Faculty of Psychology UGM’s commitment to contributing to quality education and building global partnerships to support community well-being across the Southeast Asian region.
