Bangli, Bali — In commemoration of the 61st Anniversary of the Faculty of Psychology, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), the UGM Faculty of Psychology Alumni Association (Kapsigama) organized a series of Alumni Day 2026 activities at Pasraman Gurukula, Bangli, Bali, on 31 January–1 February 2026. The event combined an alumni gathering with community service in the form of mental health promotion for students at Pasraman Gurukula.

This collaboration involved the alumni network, the Faculty of Psychology UGM, and partner institutions in Bali, including the Department of Psychology, Universitas Udayana. Through this initiative, Kapsigama carried the theme “No Health Without Mental Health,” emphasizing that mental health is an inseparable part of overall health and should be introduced from an early age.

Outreach Program: Mental health literacy for adolescents

One of the main agendas of Alumni Day was the Outreach Program “No Health Without Mental Health,” held on Saturday, 31 January 2026 (morning) at Pasraman Gurukula. The program was designed as a shared learning space to strengthen participants’ understanding of mental health, while also encouraging habits of mutual care and help-seeking when needed.

In the adolescent session, the material was developed around several key themes, including:

  • Mental health screening
  • GRIT / perseverance
  • Resilience
  • Gratitude

The full-day activities were filled with educational interactions involving facilitators, lecturers, students, and alumni networks, and were expected to serve as a catalyst for further discussions on mental health within the school/pasraman environment.

Alumni Gathering: strengthening networks, sharing, and creating impact

In addition to the community service program, Alumni Day 2026 served as a space for Kapsigama alumni to strengthen networks and foster cross-generational collaboration. The series of activities on Saturday, 31 January 2026 continued with alumni fellowship sessions from afternoon to evening, including reflective sessions to enrich shared experiences and collective care.

Several supporting activities were also held, such as the launch of alumni-authored books, the award of “Kapsi-sayang” scholarships for students in need, and a symbolic closing activity in the form of planting mangosteen trees in the Pasraman Gurukula area.

The Kapsigama Alumni Day 2026 reaffirmed the commitment of both alumni and the faculty to deliver tangible contributions—not only strengthening alumni bonds, but also bringing direct benefits to the community, particularly in enhancing mental health among children and adolescents.
