Monday (1/3) the Faculty of Psychology resumed a series of guest lectures entitled “Industrial and Organizational Psychology” Guest Lecture Series. This event is the third of six guest lectures scheduled for May.
This event was attended by 186 participants from the Faculty of Psychology students. The event took place from 07.30 WIB to 09.30 WIB.

He explained a lot about how the education and mentoring process is an important part of the transformation and development of human resources in the corporate sphere.
At this event Chiefy started by explaining about PT Pendidikan Maritim and Logistik Indonesia (PMLI). PMLI is an educational, training and consulting institution in the fields of maritime and logistics to maximize the resources owned by PT PMLI to make it more quality and competitive in producing high quality services. This is in line with its vision of becoming a center of excellence and strategic partner in developing port, maritime and logistics businesses in Indonesia and the Asia Pacific.
In the latest paradigm of human capital management, companies consider employees as human capital. Employees as assets. So human resources are a strategic factor in company development and the achievement of company goals. Therefore, the progress of a company is determined by the quality and development of human resources in it. Employees must continue to be encouraged by the progress and development of themselves by following the learning program held by the company.
That is what makes PT PMLI’s position very important and strategic. This institution is a place to learn and gain knowledge from professional employees and experts. They will also receive intensive training and mentoring.
“Not just sharing sessions but mentoring. In human capital management, there is more mentoring. The more mentors we have, the more mentors we become, the better we will be, ”said Chiefy.
Furthermore, in his presentation Chiefy explained a lot about how the education system built at PT PMLI IPC. This includes the types of competencies to be achieved, HR development models, curriculum, syllabus, and evaluation methods. With this educational program it is expected that in accordance with the spirit of BUMN, the core value that is wanted to be raised is AKHLAK, which is an acronym for trustworthy, competent, harmonious, loyal, adaptive and collaborative. Chiefy also hopes that the positive spirit of this BUMN can also be transmitted to all people or agencies that have collaborated with PT PMLI IPC.
“If I am assigned to develop people, he comes to PMLI, he is not only to be smart, not only to increase his competence, but also to have morals. Then they return to the respective agencies that send them, of course, in order to grow their respective industries both in Indonesia and at the global level,” explained Chiefy.
In the last session, Chiefy gave a lot of encouragement to psychology students who aspire to work in companies, whether private or state-owned.
