The Family Expert from The University of Newcastle Visited Faculty of Psychology UGM

Tuesday (30/1), the Faculty of Psychology Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) got honorary visitation by the Expert Family from Australia, Prof. Alan Hayes. Hayes is director Family Action Centre (Pusat Aksi Keluarga) and also a lecturer in the Faculty of health and medicine The University of Newcastle. Previously Hayes was director Australia Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) during 11 years. AIFS is a center of research from the Australia government that specifically engaged in the field of family prosperity study. Aside to educate the family in Australia related to family issues, another role of AIFS is to execute a study that can be a basic decision of public policy about the family in Australia (evidence-informed policy). Hayes was delegacy from the University of  Newcastle for committing special meetings to discuss cooperation between the University of Newcastle and Faculty of Psychology UGM in the field of Family Psychology. He came to the Faculty of Psychology with NIAFS Vice (Network of Indonesia Australia on Family studies), Drs. Jarot Wahyudi, SH, MA from UIN Sunan Kalijaga. The visitation was represented by Prof. Kwartarini Wahyu Yuniarti, MmedSc., Ph.D., as Dean Vice research, social service and cooperation field, Diana Setiyawati, Ph. D. as Head of  CPMH, Prof Dr. Tina Afiatin, M.Si., and Dr. Bagus Riyono, M.A. NIAFS is a recent network initiated by UIN Sunan Kalijaga and the University of Newcastle for encouraging study about the family in Indonesia. Faculty of Psychology UGM, as an academic institute committed family study in Indonesia, was initiated to establish wide networking by inviting NIAFS UIN and Prof Alan Hayes to collaborate to incessant study about Family in Indonesia. Center of Public Mental Health (CPMH) works together with BPPM in the development of Index of Family Tenacity in DIY, recommended by the Faculty of Psychology UGM as a representation to commit collaboration with NIAFS UIN and Family Action Centre, School of Health Sciences, The University of Newcastle. The huge aim in this meeting is sustainability collaboration among UGM, NIAFS and The University of Newcastle in Psychology of Family research that can be recommendation material for government policy both in a region or central.
