Pekan Olahraga dan Seni Universitas Gadjah Mada (PORSENIGAMA) is a sports and arts competition within the university. It has been a regular event in Universitas Gadjah Mada for quite some time, and is one of the most long-awaited events for students. This year, PORSENIGAMA was held on October 21 – December 2, 2017. Sports competitions are always held on Mondays to Fridays at 3 p.m. until 9.30 p.m., and during the weekends it runs all day from 7 a.m. to 9.30 p.m.. Gelanggang Mahasiswa is the location for all of the competitions. There are 21 categories for sports, such as athletics, badminton, taekwondo, and soccer. In the arts category, students can compete in 6 competitions, such as band, traditional dancing, photography, choir, visual arts, nasyid, and monologue.
This year, our faculty also competed in both categories. Students competed in athletics, basketball, horseback riding, bridge, badminton, chess, futsal, judo, taekwondo, karate, kempo, archery, environmental and adventure activities (pecinta alam), pencak silat, swimming, soccer, softball, tennis, volleyball, monologue, nasyid acapella, traditional dancing, visual arts, and photography.
