Bachelor of Psychology (International Undergraduate Program)

The International Undergraduate Program (IUP) in the Faculty of Psychology, established on July 17th 2016, is designed to provide students with a wider range of understandings of psychology. We involve our students in the international academic forum through our teaching methods, one of them being the International Academic Exposure (IAE). With the IAE, students are expected to build connections with academicians around the world and learn their methods by participating in exchange programs, short courses, research apprenticeships, and also actively participating in international conferences. To prepare our students for the IAE, several psychological centers operate within this faculty, where students can take part in to hone their skills, such as the Center for Indigenous and Cultural Psychology (CICP), Lembaga Pengembangan Kualitas Manusia (LPKM), Mind, Brain & Behavior Laboratory (MBB Lab), etc. Located in the heart of Yogyakarta, a vibrant city rich in culture, students can immerse themselves within its diversity and even see it as a psychological phenomenon.

Global Mobility

In the past few years, we have established partnerships with several leading psychology faculties in universities around the globe. We have close partnerships with the University of Groningen, Campus Fryslân in the University of Groningen, University of Chulalongkorn, Moscow State University, and University of Salerno. We also work together with Harvard University to give students the opportunity to do a research collaboration. But we do not limit our students' host university choices simply to the aforementioned. Universitas Gadjah Mada's Office of International Affairs offers a range of exchange opportunities that students can access.

Career Prospects

Our alumni established careers in various fields that involve human functioning. Those fields include: human resources, educational, research, clinical, etc. It is worth mentioning that in order for psychology graduates to be able to build a career in the research and clinical fields, they must at least earn either a master's in psychology (research) or master's in clinical psychology, respectively.

Learning Outcomes

After completing their study, our students are expected to be able to implement their acquired knowledge in the real world through their fields. They should be able to incorporate theoretical understandings from various schools of thought (e.g. humanistic, social, developmental, etc.) to make sense of and analyze real world situations. From there, they can make impactful contributions to both the academic and non-academic societies in the form of community service, policy briefs, advocacies, and academic papers.

Scholarships

Our faculty do not offer any sort of scholarships, but there are numerous institutions that provide scholarships for bachelor students.
